Library Mission Statement

The Teague Elementary library will be an accessible and safe environment that will foster a positive learning community, instill a passion for reading, and create responsible digital citizens and lifelong learners for the 21st century student.

We will accomplish this by:

  • collaborating with other educators to create rigorous curriculum and relevant experiences
  • providing instruction to students, teachers, and parents in acquiring and using information to gain knowledge, think critically, and draw conclusions
  • providing intellectual and physical access to information in various formats
  • fostering an interest in reading through book talks, author interviews, read alouds, small group instruction, and individual conferences
  • providing a safe environment where students can celebrate their culture and diversity
  • creating a student centered, forward thinking learning environment
  • using engaging and relevant materials to create lifelong learners.
