Campus History
Teague Elementary opened its doors in 1977 with Dorothy Wells as its principal. As the 40th school built in Pasadena ISD, Teague was constructed as an open-concept facility serving children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The facility measured 81,000 square feet and cost $1,997,545 to build. At the time of its opening, the school included a media center, staffed with a full-time specialist, along with a cafeteria and a full-time nurse. The school was named in honor of Carroll P. Teague, a long-serving teacher and principal for Pasadena ISD.
In recent years, Teague has experienced a steady growth in enrollment of students and the campus has added six temporary facilities, called portables, on its grounds. In the past five years, the campus has become the second-largest elementary school in the district with 720 students.
